HELLO! :D
guess what! i got home at 3+ today and... fell asleep @ 3 and woke up at 8.30 today :D 5.5 hours :] HAHA hibernation!
i jus cleaned out my hamsters cage.. changed the bedding, washed the wheels, refilled the food and changed the litter box for my cats. HAHA alot of work eh. :] If only block test tests about hamsters cats dogs, haha maybe i have hope to score MSG 3 ler. -.- and to say the ape homework havnt finish .... haiz ):
i jus saw my hamster yawn :D its burrowing now!! :D ahahahahaahahah! and its whiskers grew longer. and he gave me a nip today -- OW. :D

ive always loved hamsters and this hamster that i hav has a special place in my heart, cause it belongs to my family :D brought home by my brother and we have alot of fun taking care of it and playing with hammie, getting amused by its long distance runnings on the wheels.. (u noe wad :D reminds me of JAN L.D runner :P)
But after the fun, it also comes the cleaning of their habitats, cages, caring for their health :] and they are just SO small, fuzzy and tiny :D :]
SO! WHAT ARE HAMSTERS?:
Hamsters are mammals that fall into the class of rodents, they have the same family group as mice, rats... :]
And just abit of trivia, the name rodents actually means "TO GNAW" in latin, therefore, we can conclude that hamsters love to Gnaw! *they are inclined to do so. :]
All rodents have incisor teeth that grow throughout their entire lives (unlike humans which only have 2 sets of teeth) therefore, in order to keep them in check, they gnaw on things to grind them down. sometimes they enjoy nipping ther
The word 'Hamster' actually originates from a similar German word 'Hamstern' which literally means 'to hoard' - if you've seen hamsters and how they eat, you will notice that they have very prominent cheek pouches in which they will hoard their food - very handy in the desert conditions when they will run around, find food, and store them in their cheek pouches as they move along and then bring them back to their burrows to store and savour at a later time.
What the usual habitats of hamsters in the wild?:
Hamsters originally live in Semi-desert conditions and they are also nocturnal by nature. (They sleep in the day and forage at night as it is much cooler in the desert)
Hamsters alike rabbits and most desert-dwelling mammals often lives in burrows. So, besure to have ample bedding material *(recommended: Azpen, non-toxic, non-irriation, non-scented) to satisfy their burrowing nature :)
Akin to alot of other nocturnal creatures, hamsters haven't got great eyesight, they do not really utilize it at night and instead relies mainly on their sense of smell and hearing to detect danger, forage for food.
Do bear their nocturnal habit in mind as if you are a light sleeper, and you place your hamster in your bedroom, u might be awoken to the squeak of the exercise wheel :]
What is the lifespan of a hamster?:
The really sad part is, hamsters only live for about 2 years with a maximum of 3 years.

u have worse to worst 2 years minimum with them,
which means
365 x 2= 730 days,
730 x 24 = 17 520 hours
with them
Do cherish this time and make the best of it
Clean their cages often, take good care of them
as neglected care would cause diseases and germ attract ants, even soldier ants to attack them.
I dont like the issue about death of pets, i really want them to accompany me for life, but sadly, it isnt possible.
